Rules and Eligibility

The selection and eligibility of individuals for the Afro-Heritage Broadcasting & Entertainment Awards (AHBEA) are based on the following criteria:

  • Recipients must be African or of African descent.
  • Recipients may be residing in Africa or living in diaspora.
  • Recipients must be seen as an ambassador of Africa's culture and values.
  • Recipients will be duly selected by competent advisory committee.
  • The selection will be done across board after rigorous background checks, attitudes on and off work, commitment to uplifting values and morals.
  • You must have been in the industry for over 30yrs or more with outstanding performance and sound artistic prowess to be qualified to be a LEGEND.
  • Award of Excellence and award of Recognition recipients must have put in 20 years or more in the entertainment industry with outstanding and sound artistic record.
  • POSTHUMOUS category will be for late entertainers.
  • LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT award will come every 5 years.
